Of a's is an experimental approach to using letters to design letters. Rather than picture a letter's utility solely in terms of being represenative as part of the alphabet or an element of a word, it is pictured as a unit of a medium. Using a two-story "a" from the typeface Bodoni as the unit, I created letterforms representative of several letters of the alphabet. What is produced shows the potential for letters, pictured as units, to create experimental typography.
