Tamawuj is the online publishing platform of Sharjah Biennial 13, organized by Christine Tohme. From January through October 2017, Tamawuj is publishing a continual series of essays, images, videos, experimental writings, fragmentary texts, and other audiovisual materials related to the Biennial’s four themes: water, crops, earth, and culinary.

Project Projects developed an identity and website characterized by an open-ended arrangement of a Tamawujwordmark and icons for the Biennial’s themes. As an overlay on the website, this navigation functions like lightweight layer atop the actual content—a solid underpinning set in a bolder font and darker color. The typographic nuance of RT Dromo and Klim Type Foundry’s Pitch allow for the integration of multiple cultural viewpoints, languages, and perspectives into a single, dynamic web experience.
